We have a global network of specialist professionals who have worked with us for over two decades as either consultants or partners on the investment programs we lead. This allows us to be agile and deliver a boutique service to global leaders in the impact investment, real estate and conservation communities.

Paul Milton

Investor Relations, Development Strategy & Marketing
Paul is a thought leader and a high-level strategist, dedicated to developing innovative and measurable investment models within areas of conservation and global natural resource. Our firm acts as a catalyst and partner, attracting like-minded people to collaborate and utilise natural and social capital platforms to maximise investor balance sheet values, protect environments and integrate community uplift. Paul is the founder of Milton Group LLC US and Milton Advisors Ltd UK; co-founder of One Planet.com, a digital sustainability platform using graph based technologies; a member of the board of the US firm Hart Howerton LLC, based in New York and San Francisco; co-founder investor of Sherwood Design Engineers LLC in San Francisco and New York, innovators in sustainable design; a director of Grumeti Construction Ltd in Tanzania; and an advisor to Frankfurt Zoological Society; and the African Community and Conservation Foundation (ACCF). He collaborates on matters of conservation with TUSK, Peace Parks Foundation and the Royal Africa Society. He is invited regularly to speak on matters of conservation and tourism in Africa.

Tom Palmer

Development Strategy & Marketing
Tom has worked alongside Paul for over a decade; originally as a Senior Associate at Hart Howerton London, and with Milton Group since its launch in 2009. He is a development advisor specialising in sustainable tourism and public-private conservation business plans. Tom thinks at a holistic landscape level integrating a career of large scale land planning with developing best and highest use land programs that achieve economic sustainability. As part of our global interests Tom formed the Sydney office in 2016 with the goal of broadening our reach in sustainable development to the Asian region. He is also one of the founding partners of Ngarra; a responsible development company based in Sydney with an active project in Tasmania. He's passionate about outcome-based impact investment and the role of the private sector in protecting the world's natural and cultural assets.

Hayden Vivash

Financial Strategy
Hayden is a leader and commercially astute CFO with a range of international experience. Prior to joining Milton Group, he was a main board director for over 5 years for the UK, Ireland and South Africa markets at Philips. Hayden manages relationships with investors, African government officials, development agencies, local banks and legal advisors. He heads up project due diligence including treasury, budgeting and planning; tax structuring; asset and risk management; controls and compliance and external audit. As a consultant to Milton Group and a CFO for conservation, real estate and hospitality development in Africa, Hayden represents several family offices’ interests on projects in Mozambique, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zimbabwe. He leads the team’s financial and management reporting and investor liaison and is a passionate advocate for the continent’s potential.

Oliver Nicoll

Financial Strategy
Oliver joined the team in 2018. He is an Oxford graduate and holds a master’s in real estate finance from Cambridge. Prior to consulting for the Milton Group, he worked in London, Singapore and Mongolia in real estate private equity and development. Oliver’s background ensures project feasibility and investment models deliver best-in-class thinking, taking account of international best practice. He leads the team’s financial reporting, investor information production and distribution.

Nadine Manji

Analyst & Sustainability Integration
Nadine is a Cambridge graduate and adds a strong set of research and analytical skills to the team, key to her role as analyst and sustainability integrator at Milton Group. Nadine's longstanding work with the Aga Khan Foundation's sustainable development projects, and prior experience at a start-up, developing an integrated digital software platform, is critical to Milton Group's engagement with One Planet's sustainability model and digital tracking platform. She helps to ensure sustainable practice across all of our projects whilst creating balance sheet value. By consistently adopting a lean start up approach to Milton's business development, Nadine helps direct the team's constantly innovative thinking, undertaking in depth market research and analysis to identify opportunities for Milton Group's improvement and expansion.

Graham Ledger

Hospitality & Operations
Graham has over 36 years experience in the African hotel and leisure industry. Prior to his current position as Managing Director and Board Member for Grumeti Reserves Serengeti, Graham held leadership roles at various exclusive hotels and game lodges, including Singita Private Game Reserve in South Africa. By constantly employing both lateral thinking and analytical decision making, he holds a strong track record for successfully identifying and implementing market opportunities. His input as Managing Director and Board Member has ensured the comprehensive daily running of operations at Grumeti Reserves, creating an unrivalled wilderness experience. For over a decade Graham has been integral to a number of delivered projects through Milton Group.He has been credited with ‘raising the bar’ and professionalising operations, helping to maintain Milton Group’s market perception as a market leader.

Nadine Swanepoel

Hospitality & Operations
Nadine is currently the Logistics and Special Projects Manager at Grumeti Reserves, Tanzania, focusing on procurement, project coordination and incident/ risk management. Acting in consultant capacity to Milton Group, Nadine has allowed Milton Group to both concieve and deliver complex projects in wilderness settings. Her experience in both front and back of house offers Nadine an insight into all aspects of high end lodge operations, placing her in a good position to provide the critical support needed to ensure that all teams are well equipped and prepared for handover during project and installation phases.

Lyle Webb

Project Cost & Risk Management
Lyle, both a Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, has an experienced background in international real-estate development. His career spanning over 35 years has seen him lead on a variety of projects, from constructing Nomura’s St Martin’s Le Grand in London, to the Parliamentary Building in Tanzania. Lyle’s long standing links to African hospitality and real-estate offer Milton Group an informed channel of insight into the potential of projects on the continent, with clear results; Since 2009 working with Milton Group Lyle has held leadership roles in the recent, successful redevelopment of Singita Serengeti House in Tanzania, a private lodge for an UHNWI family at Grumeti Reserves in Tanzania, Singita Kwitonda lodge and Kataza House in the Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, Singita Sabora Tanzania. Working with Milton Group analysts Lyle provides and coordinates project cost management programs to support investor business plans and reporting requirements.

Derrick Nkera

Project Management
Derrick has worked as a site based Project Manager, overseeing construction schedules, quality control and overall risk management for real-estate projects in both South Africa and Rwanda, for over 12 years. His coordinative responsibilities with Milton Group include acquiring and ensuring that projects comply to the correct permits and assessment standards, as well as acting as an interface between local contractors and third parties, managing the professional team and keeping Milton Groups projects on schedule and up to best-in-class standards.

Debra Thomas-Levine

Procurement & Logistics
Debra is a specialist in project coordination, procurement and logistics for high-value tourism developments in remote environments. She is responsible for the operational country set up for new developments and heads up pre-opening services prior to hospitality operator hand over. Debra’s background is in hospitality and hotel management. Prior to joining Milton Group, she spent 6 years as Head of Resources and Logistics at Grumeti Reserves in Tanzania, coordinating all service departments and providing support to the tourism division, which comprised three 5* lodges at the time.

Jackson Rwakabuba

Land Acquisition
Jackson has been engaged with land management, as both a land surveyor and cartographer, for over 10 years, having studied Urban and Regional Planning at the National University of Rwanda. Jackson’s current role includes working with community resettlement and conflict resolution in Rwanda, and his oversight on land transactions supports Milton Group fulfill their mission within the necessary legal and administrative requirements for land acquisition and management on behalf the property investment ownership.

Marcelo Julio

Project Management
Marcelo has a background in engineering and brings to the team an array of technical skills that include engineering oversight, GIS mapping, detailed design drafting and documentation. He is a mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in Business and Project Management and has worked across the world in a diversity of sectors including oil, gas and manufacturing. Marcelo is passionate about technology and its role in conservation and is constantly bringing new approaches to systemisation and office protocols to the business.

Simon Ryan

Construction and Project Management
Representing Milton Group as the owners representative Simon has acted as acted as construction and project manager on several projects in East Africa and Rwanda. Simon’s commitment to sustainable design and method have underpinned his 12 years as a Construction Manager for Grumeti Construction, throughout which he has worked on high end luxury accommodation developments and refurbishments. Simon has the skill sets to self peform civil engineering and landscape works, particularily evident on the Singita Kwitonda development recently completed within the Volcanoes National park management area in Rwanda His oversight of the new build Kilima Lodge Private Villa in Tanzania saw the project awarded the LEED Gold accreditation, and his focused approach is continuously applied in his current endeavours with Sasakwa Lodge, and the redesign and rebuild of Sabora Tented Camp.

Colin McIntyre

Construction and Project Management
Collin is a Construction Manager for Grumeti Construction, and his background in landscape management, both in Australia and Africa, have provided him with the in-depth experience needed to contribute to the development of Milton Group’s key real-estate projects in Tanzania. Collin’s work consistently aligns with Milton’s commitment to the 10 One Planet principles, which provide an underlying commitment to sustainable design and building methods. His skills include, and extend beyond luxury real-estate construction; Collin was instrumental in the infrastructure management and planning of a new road network, including crossings and bridges in Grumeti, and he is currently engaged in building a new RISE Research Centre.
