In 2019 Milton Group and the Peace Parks Foundation agreed to collaborate to re-think ways to unlock value from large scale landscapes.
Peace Parks was founded in 1997 by HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, Nelson Mandela and Dr Anton Rupert to facilitate the establishment of peace parks, or transfrontier conservation areas (TFCAs), in southern Africa. Today the purpose is simple – to restore a tomorrow for life on Earth.
This collaboration reflects a joint vision by Milton Group and Peace Parks to think at a landscape and regional level beyond just the borders of protected areas. This approach ensures Peace Parks are not isolated from evolving financing trends in the impact and wider investing community, remaining at the forefront of forging overlaps between these two worlds.
‘If we can conquer boundaries to re-establish, renew and preserve large functional ecosystems – we can protect and regenerate natural resources and heritage vital to enabling and sustaining life on our awe-inspiring continent’ Peace Parks.
